Delaney
My beautiful daughter, Delaney, entered the world on July 11, 2008. In the past 22 months, I have had the chance to see the world in her eyes and experience how much you can love another human being. No matter what kind of day I have had, she can make me smile and forget, for a short amount of time, what happened throughout the day.
Delaney has grown into a very active, energetic, loving, happy-go-lucky toddler. I think that she would live outside if she could, as it is always a battle getting her to go inside to eat and sleep! She loves to go for walks, look at the ducks in the stream behind our house, collect pine cones and stomp on the "buggies." That being said, she also likes to snuggle up on the chair at night to read books, especially her favorite, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See?" Delaney also likes to color, build castles with her blocks, climb all over Gauge (our black lab), and chase after Remmy (our cat).
As you can probably tell, Delaney keeps us very busy. At times, I wonder how I can juggle everything; however, it all seems to get done and get done well. We are very lucky to have supportive families to help us through our crazy, hectic life and I wouldn't change it for anything. I am looking forward to creating new memories as a family and I can't wait to share those in this blog.

Danielle,
ReplyDeleteIt is clear that you love Delaney very much. It is always great to look at a child and see the wonder in their eyes when they are learning something new. I am expecting my first child in the next few weeks and hope to share some of the memories you have experienced. Do you ever think about having another child? How do you manage work, school and family? I can't wait to hear more about your beautiful daughter and the fun experiences you are having.
Danielle, That is by far the most gorgeous baby I have ever seen!!!! (disclaimer: besides my two children...just in case they read this)
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful! Enjoy every precious moment you spend with her. I have three boys (men) who are 19, 21, and 23. In my next blog, I will be expressing what these kids mean to me! Although they are older and sometimes feel that they no longer need a mother to look after them, I always tell them - once a mother, always a mother no matter how old they get! It is so much fun to watch their "first" things that they do as they become more independent!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! Liz-sometimes I wonder how I do manage to do everything. There are definitely some late nights, but that is the sacrifices that you make sometimes. As for having another child, YES! I am ready for another one right now, but our house is too small. We are going to wait until we get into a bigger house, which will hopefully be my parents house. They are looking to downsize in a couple of years, so we are looking into purchasing their house when they are ready! Only time will tell!
